Children are important at Northlake Baptist Church!! We believe that children are learning from the moment they are born and we strive to teach them about Jesus' love each time they come. This is taught through Bible concepts and through the love the teachers express to the children. We provide age appropriate activities for preschoolers through preteens to begin laying a foundation so that one day they can choose to accept Jesus as their Savior. Each program and activity provided for children uses Bible-based curriculum to help children learn more about God and how to apply that knowledge to their lives by living in a way that pleases Him. It is a joy to be a part of the lives of children and watch as they grow in their understanding of God's love. Security for Preschoolers
Each time a preschooler is brought to church, the parent will sign the child in on a sheet and provide any pertinent information, such as feeding times, parent location, and allergies. The parent then receives a security card. That card must be presented for the child to be released to the parent. We also have a paging system with vibrating pagers that a parent can take so the teachers can quickly and discreetly contact them.
Bible Study
We have Bible Study for all ages at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday morning. The children and preschoolers have classes that are divided by age or school grade. Each class, birth through fifth grade, learns the same lesson in a way that is appropriate and fun for their age.
Wednesday Nights
On Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm we offer opportunities for all children to continue to deepen their understanding of Scripture. Preschoolers experience "TEAM KID" which is a Bible-based curriculm that gives the opportunity to learn spiritually, mentally, and physically. The lessons involve several active group games for the children to play while reinforcing the spirtual truth. School age children are offered the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the Bible during Bible Drill. This is a fun way for kids to memorize Scripture, learn how to find books of the Bible quickly, and memorize where key passages of Scripture are located. During the Summertime, school-age children also participate in "TEAM KID".
Camp GAP
Each summer, children who have completed third through sixth grades can leave home for a week of adventure at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Encampment in Cedar Hill, Texas. This week is planned especially for children to meet Jesus. Of course, there are the many fun experiences of camp to enhance this learning. The days are filled with Bible Study, swimming, hiking, obstacle courses, an indoor climbing wall, and a zip line. Each night there is a specially designed Worship service with great music and a message aimed at the interests and attention spans of children. Watch for more information in the Spring and pack your bags and get ready to go!!
Fall Family Festival
Each year we have a FREE Halloween alternative carnival. There are games, prizes, food, and lots and lots of fun. Everyone in the church participates to provide a variety of booths and many great activities that each person in the family can enjoy.
